In 1992, the notable project was undertaken with artists creating covers for Telia's telephone directories. The most talked-about contribution was Dan Wolger's cover for the Yellow Pages. The following year, a similar project was initiated, inviting photographers to create directory covers. They turned to the Academy of Photography at Konstfack, where both new and former students, as well as established artists, produced a number of images for the project. However, the images were deemed inappropriate, and the project was halted by Telia's board, leading to a new set of photographs being commissioned and 15 million directories needing to be reprinted. At the Liljevalchs exhibition "The Rejected" in 1993, a collection of 35 images taken by Swedish photographers for the cover of Telia's telephone directory for the 1993/94 edition was displayed. Tele2 then released a collector's series featuring 28 telephone cards based on the motifs from "The Rejected."
