For three light points. Shades in frosted opal glass. Nickel-plated, black metal, and black lacquered wood. Height 74 cm, diameter 53 cm.

Electrical function not tested. Wear to surface. Stains. A few chips in the upper rim of the glass shades.

Osmo Lares was a distinguished Finnish diplomat who devoted his career to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His early postings took him to Prague (1956–1959), Cologne (1960–1964), and Paris (1966–1969). He subsequently served as Ambassador to Tokyo – with side accreditation to Seoul – from 1972 to 1978, followed by appointments to Canberra (1983–1987), The Hague (1987–1989), and Dublin (1989–1991).
