Bröderna Belais var bland de första att använda vitguld i smycken i USA. De var verksamma i slutet av 1800-talet och början av 1900-talet. De experimenterade med legeringar för vitt guld och presenterade sitt slutgiltiga resultat 1917 som de hade patent på tills slutet av 1920-talet.
