According legend the Painting of Black Madonna was painted by Saint Luke the Evangelist. The legends also says that it was painted on the table’s planks which used to belong to the Holy Family. There are many stories about miracles that happened thanks to Black Madonna. On of the most famous one is about Swedish invasion in 1655 – 1660. The Jasna Gora in Czestochowa was the only one place in Poland that was not taken over by Swedish army.
