Auction highlights and world records from the Tom Böttiger Collection

Bukowskis – Where the collections are sold

Tom Böttiger Collection

On October 5th, the Tom Böttiger Collection was hammered in a crowded auction hall at Bukowskis in Stockholm. The auction set two new world records. First up was Martin Wickström, followed by Charlotte Gyllenhammar, who smashed her previous sales record three times and closed with a lot exceeding 1 million SEK

The collection primarily included contemporary Swedish art and photography with works by Maria Miesenberger, Dan Wolgers, Astrid Sylwan, Matthias van Arkel, and Lars Tunbjörk. International names like Donald Baechler and Steve McCurry were also represented in the collection.

Three world records for Charlotte Gyllenhammar

During the auction, Charlotte Gyllenhammar's three sculptures were sold at final prices far exceeding the artist's previous auction records. The auction started with "Sitting Giant Miniature," followed by "Equilibrium, Miniature," which sold multiple times above the estimated price. The most spectacular sale of the auction was Gyllenhammar's sculpture "Out," which sold at a final price just above 1 million SEK - a new world record.
