A pottery figure of a dog, Tang dynasty (618-907).

Standing dog, glazed in a cream coloured glaze. Height 15 cm. Length 17,5 cm. Height with wooden stand 17 cm.

Provenance

From the Collection of Richard Hultmark (1867-1935). Member of the China Committee, First Counselor, and Judge. Brother of Emil and David Hultmark who also collected Asian Ceramics and Works of art, all members of ‘Kinaklubben’ (China Club) in Stockholm in the 1920's with Carl Kempe (1884-1967) and the Crown Prince Gustav Adolf. He is a well known collector in Sweden and built his collection during the golden age of European collecting. Thence by descent within the family.

Listed in the 1936 Bukowskis Catalouge of the sale after Richard Hultmark, lot no 87. Then purchased by Jägmästare Hultmark.
