Arne Jones

Arne Jones is regarded as one of the most influential pioneers of modern sculpture. After the Second World War, he became a leading voice in the cultural shift that shaped post-war Sweden. As a member of the artist group 1947 års män, he championed the development of a more public, concrete form of art—where sculpture found a natural place in shared spaces. Jones broke with the tradition of massive, monumental sculpture and opened the way to new ideas about space, emptiness, and movement. Through thematic series such as In and Out, Pirouette, Treklang, and Yin-Yang, he deepened his exploration of form and balance. This auction primarily features works by Jones himself, but also includes art by friends and colleagues that he received as gifts.
