Islamic Works of Art and Oriental Carpets

This auction brings together Persian and Ottoman works of art, focusing on well-made and engaging objects. The collection is centred on Persian ceramics, particularly from Kashan, known for its long ceramic tradition and distinctive style.

The sale includes an Ottoman Iznik dish, a decorative Khatamkari mirror with fine marquetry, as well as pieces of Persian silver. It also features several antique carpets, including a Ziegler Mahal rug and figural, signed carpets from respected galleries in Isfahan. Many of the lots come from the collection of Johan Almqvist (1940–2024), who built his collection over many years with curiosity and a keen eye for quality. This auction offers the chance to acquire objects with clear background, strong craftsmanship and lasting collector appeal.
