Welcome to the spring themed auction, Weapons and Militaria. The auction is yet another example of Bukowskis’ remarkable breadth. There is something here for every collector in the field. Featured are decorations and orders belonging to a distinguished Swedish diplomat, a fine Neolithic boat axe, and even a complete forester’s uniform in forest-green wool with gleaming buttons, together with hat, cartridge pouch and sabre.
Among the antique firearms we find a fine pair of percussion-lock pistols in fitted case, officers’ pistols by the renowned Stockholm gunsmith David Bars, as well as an example of the “Granberg chopper”, a combination weapon with two pistol barrels and a heavy blade formerly used in the prison service.
One of the highlights of the auction among the edged weapons is an early 19th-century sword with a blued and gilt broadsword blade and a gilt cross-shaped brass hilt of the very finest quality.
