Strictly contemporary full panelled calf over bevelled wooden boards, raised bands to spine, traces of leather ties, fittings preserved on front cover. Binding professionally restored with i. a. replacement leather on parts of the spine; the central blindstamped motifs of the covers appear to be neatly inserted and may not be the originals. Among the many attractive old inscriptions on the endleaves and title one states that the book was acquired from the translator Eric Schroderus on September 4, 1620. Ownership stamps of Johan af Nordin and Carl Gustaf Lewenhaupt on title and calling number ”K 42” stamped in black on lower front pastedown.

Text with occasional very slight foxing and staining, old annotations, minor marginal nicks, tears and dampstains, in a few cases with insignificant paper loss, leaf B1 with long mended tear in text without loss, leaf N5 with tear from lower margin through 9 lines of text, without loss.
