Bukowskis presents Helsinki Design Sale, Finland’s leading auction for modern design. The auction highlights modern design of exceptional quality, featuring works by both Finnish and international designers.

Among the highlights are sought-after lamps by Paavo Tynell, whose elegant design language and refined craftsmanship have made him a central figure in Finnish design history. The auction also features a wide selection of collectibles by Tapio Wirkkala, including a unique plywood dish from Wirkkala’s own collection, as well as sought-after glass art by Timo Sarpaneva. This year, Bukowskis also celebrates Artek’s 90th anniversary with a dedicated section honouring the company’s timeless design legacy and its lasting influence on modern interiors.

The highlight of the auction is a ring by the American artist Alexander Calder, which he gave to Alvar and Aino Aalto during their visit to New York in 1939, a piece with a remarkable history that unites two of the 20th century’s most groundbreaking creators.
