Peter Cornell was one of Sweden's most influential art critics and a deeply respected voice in the art historical debate. For many years, he was a committed writer for Expressen, where he helped to shape the public discourse about art.
He was also a frequent contributor to the cultural journal Paletten.
Cornell also had deep academic roots. He was a lecturer in art history at Konstfack in Stockholm and, between 2000 and 2005, was professor of art theory and history of ideas at the Royal Institute of Art.
Peter Cornell's formal merits were many and honourable. In 2014, he was elected an honorary member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, and the following year he received both the De Nios Winter Prize and the prestigious Doblougska Prize, further emphasising his importance in the world of culture and art.
Bukowskis is proud to present a part of Peter Cornell's collection, including works by Barbro Östlihn, Jan Håfström & Olle Bonniér.
