Two bamboo and paper fans, one with polychrome motif featuring flowers, children, and landscape against a gilt ground. Length c. 27-28.5 cm.
Silk cases embroidered partially with 'forbidden knot', motifs of lotus, cherry blossom, and orchids, one with silk brocade. Length c. 27-30.5 cm.
Silk pouch embroidered with flowers and auspicious symbols known as shou characters against a red ground, 7.5 x 11 cm.

Provenance

From the Collection of Ove Christian Lunn, Danish Diplomat and Consul General for Denmark in Shanghai 1928-1935. Lunn had an exciting diplomatic career and was posted 1910-18 in Oslo, 1918-24 in San Francisco, 1924-28 Melbourne and then finally Shanghai 1928-35. Thence by descent within the familiy.
