Sofia Gisberg utbildades till mönsterritare vid Slöjdskolan i Stockholm, där hon senare även blev överlärare. Hon gick även målarskola hos konstnären Kerstin Cardon.
Gisberg har formgivit både bruksföremål och nobeldiplom. Hon finns även representerad på Nationalmuseum i Stockholm.
