Made to order for Adolf V. Streng year 1910.

Arthur Heickell’s atmospheric lake landscape is an exceptionally detailed and high quality copy of Berndt Lindholm’s original. The landscape is from Dalsland in Sweden, where Baldersnäs Manor currently houses a hotel. Lindholm painted several versions of this subject, and in 1910 Finnish professor Adolf Voldemar Streng (1852-1933) was charmed by the landscape and commissioned a copy from Finnish painter Arthur Heickell.
