A pair of Swedish Gustavian chairs, made in Stockholm in the late 18th century.
Painted chairs. Frame carved with lamb tongue decoration. Tapered and fluted legs with corner fleurons. Stuffed upholstered seat and back. Height 88 cm, width 53 cm, seat height circa 42 cm.
Restored. Later upholstery. Later painting. Wear due to age and use. Legs reinforced.
According to labelling, originally from Woxna Bruk, Hälsingland. Later with Wilhelmina von Hallwyl at Hildersborg.
