Claes Thell was a Swedish ceramist. He was born just outside Höganäs, Skåne. As a teenager, Claes Thell began experimenting with ceramics and various glazes. He had the opportunity to practice at the Höganäs Company's Metallurgical Laboratory, where he learned more about different glazes. He had his workshop in Ödåkra, Skåne. He worked with various types of objects, often focusing on the design of the glaze. In his later years, Thell worked as a teacher at the Ceramic Center in Höganäs. Thell had solo exhibitions at places such as the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm and Konsthantverkarna, Stockholm and participated in many group exhibitions. His works are included in several museum collections in Sweden.
