No. 66. Ed Ruscha ”The End #87” (detail).
Contemporary is this autumn’s biggest auction for Swedish and international contemporary art. Works include artists currently exhibiting such as Cecilia Edefalk and Dan Wolgers, younger artists in hot demand such as Nathalie Djurberg and Carl Hammoud, and international artists such as Jim Dine, Ed Ruscha and Julian Opie.
“We’re particularly pleased that this season we also have works by contemporary artists that have never been seen at auction in Sweden before, such as Dan Colen and Carsten Nicolai. The public will also be able to see a wide range of photographs, everything from classic vintage photography from big names to the latest from the hot contemporary scene in Los Angeles with three works by Matthew Brandt,” says Lena Nytén, Specialist Photographs & Modern/Contemporary Art
“Contemporary art is a way of understanding the present and working with the works, the artists and the collectors is rewarding on so many levels. It’s exciting to be able to display Contemporary at Konstnärshuset. The historic setting juxtaposed with the contemporary art creates an interesting dynamic,” says Karin Aringer, Specialist Contemporary Art, Photography and Prints.
