"The watch belonged to my mother, Barbro Peterson, widow of the F1 driver Ronnie Peterson who passed away in 1978. She received it as a gift from her later partner, John Watson. He was at the time an F1 driver for McLaren, which Ebel sponsored. It remained in Barbro's personal possession until her passing in 1978, after which it was passed on to me as her heir."
