A Private Contemporary Art Collection – Part II

A Private Contemporary Art Collection – Part II showcases a unique collection that has developed over two decades, built through a young couple’s personal and passionate commitment to contemporary art. With an open and curious approach to various visual expressions and media, they have created a collection that reflects both their own journey and the artistic landscape of our time. The journey began in the mid-2000s, within the young Nordic art scene. Their involvement coincided with the emergence of a new generation of Swedish galleries, including Crystal Palace, Elastic Gallery, Johan Berggren Gallery, Lundgren Gallery, Belenius/Nordenhake, and later Carl Kostyál. In close dialogue with these gallerists, the couple also connected with the international art world, notably through art fairs and cross-border collaborations. They have followed art closely – through travels, exhibitions, and fairs around the world.

This international presence and long-standing dedication characterize the collection now being presented. It includes works by established artists such as Austin Lee, Gerald Davis, Trude Viken, and Jesse Greenberg, alongside a new generation of artists who reflect our contemporary world in all its complexity and diversity. The auction offers an excellent opportunity to acquire works from a collection that has grown with both sensitivity and sharpness keeping pace with some of the most interesting currents in contemporary art in Sweden and internationally.
