A Collector’s Home – With a longing for the Land of the Sun

This is the fifth auction in a series showcasing selected pieces from the magnificent home in Malmö. It was the residence of a true enthusiast whose collection had grown so extensive that it has now, like a force of nature, begun to reach outward. The collection as a whole transcends boundaries, moving freely between eras, styles, and materials. Although a particular fondness for the early 1900s can be detected, it is the joy of collecting and the richness of variety that best define the whole.

The fascination with objects from what was once called the Land of the Sun has long attracted collectors both young and old in the Western world. In our richly filled home in Malmö, we find a multitude of beautiful objects that our collector has added to their collection over many years. Raised in a home with parents active in the antiques trade, our collector gained early insight into the allure of objects from cultures beyond the Scandinavian one — and it is clear that items from the Orient have held a special place in their heart. We now hope that these cherished pieces will find new homes with you, the collectors of the future.
