Painted movie prop imitating a medieval church fresco painting depicting a dramatic scene with two people succumbing to the plague. From the Ingmar Bergman motion picture "The Seventh Seal", 1957. Total measurements (incl. frame) circa 147 x 154 cm.

Relined canvas. Repair. Minor damages. Scratchmarks. Wear. Loss of colour.

Provenance

Actor Gunnar Björnstrand (1909-1986), who played an important part in the motion picture "The Seventh Seal", 1957, through his performance as the squire Jöns (as a gift after the movie was completed).
Märta och Arne Wersén, Björkö, Sweden (as a gift from the above mentioned).
