Jörgen Stärmoses är mest känd som arkitekt och formgivare av armaturer. Aktiv i hemstaden Odense men har också ritat t ex Rigshospitalet i Köpenhamn. Hans far snickarmästaren Frederik Stærmose hade Frederik Stærmose Møbelfabrik i Odense. Stolen är en del av Jörgen Stärmoses 'svendstykke' / gesällprov som möbelsnickare, utfört ca 1943. Utförde även senare enstaka möbler.
