Maria Adelaide ran a leak in the North Sea on 2/7 1905 approx. 95 miles from Spurm Point due to storm. She was loaded with coal from West Hartlepool for Trelleborg. The crew, 10 men, saved themselves in the lifeboats and were picked up by the British trawler Illfacombe, which the next day landed them in Grimsby.
