Göteborg, Amund Grefwe, 1668. Tall 12:o. 13.5 x 6 cm. [24] (of 30) pages + 880 + [8] pages. NOTE: thus lacking the last three pages in the initial unpaginated sequence.
Fine, lightly worn silk binding, baroque embroidered with silver thread, gilt edges with tooling, marbled front & back endpapers. Long gift inscription on the front free endpaper dated 1687 to "my dear daughter Chatarina Tilas [...]" (Katarina Tilas, 1687-1732). Probably a baptismal gift.
Rare. No complete copy is noted by Collijn (sp. 566-7), who only records an incomplete one in the Royal Library. No further copies in Libris.
"A special group forms the Göteborg manuals," writes David Linquist in Kyrkohistorisk Årsskrift, 43 (1943); the first from 1654 was followed by the one presented here (1668), which in turn became a model for several later ones (1672, 1673, 1674).
