Klocka har en sk väckningsfunktion. Genom att vrida den lilla sifferringen av mässing runt visarens centrum så att den lilla korta visaren tvärs timvisaren pekar på önskad siffra ställs väckningstiden in. När tiden är inne lossar en spärr för det lilla lodet som då sjunker varvid hammaren slår på klangskålen. Typiskt för sådana klockor är att uppdraget sitter i urtavlans mitt.
