A 19TH CENTURY DRESSING TABLE / SHAVING TABLE.

A removable upper section with a folding mirror and lidded compartments on each sides. Pagoda scene painted on the top, the legs are united with a shelf. Marked with a Swedish paper label underneath the table "This table has been bought from an auction after Queen Josefina 1877, master Johan Pettersson". Another paper label under the drawer bottom tells "Toilette table so called poudreuse, valued in estate inventory by Neuman to 2.500:-, after I.K 1973. Subsequently repainted by painter Holmstedt for 500:- -76. Originally black and gilded". (free translation). Width 50 cm, depth 35 cm, height 77 cm. Total height with the mirror raised 104 cm.

Hard wear. Broken top. Restored and with later additions.
