Carl Palmegren
Bukowskis' internationally acclaimed watch auction, Important Timepieces, is Scandinavia's most prominent auction for collectors' watches, handpicked and carefully selected by Bukowskis' watch experts. The autumn edition includes watches from the most prominent manufacturers, such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Omega, and Audemars Piguet. We can also present some rarer brands in the auction, such as Urban Jürgensen and Gerald Charles.
Carl Palmegren, Head Specialist Watches, lists a couple of selected highlights in the autumn auction.
–After a strong spring with many successful sales, we now see an exceptionally high demand for quality vintage watches with exciting provenance. We can also present a rich section with modern classics from the most sought-after watch manufacturers, which attracts bidders and collectors both here in Sweden as well as internationally.
Omega "Master" trio - catalogue number 25, 26 and 27
–In 1957, Omega released three models that would become iconic, the so-called "Master" trio of Seamaster 300, Railmaster and Speedmaster. These are also associated for many collectors as "The Holy Trinity". The watches were originally designed as sports watches and work tools. Seamaster for divers, Speedmaster for racing and Railmaster for those who worked near electromagnetic fields.
At Important Timepieces, we can present the first generation Omega Railmaster CK2914 from 1958 in excellent condition, with original "Broad Arrow" hands and the much sought-after original bracelet reference 7077/6, with "short clasp". We can also present the first generation Omega Speedmaster CK2915 made in September 1957, making it not only an early Speedmaster but one of the first ever made. Finally, in the master trio, we can present a third generation Omega Seamaster 300 ST165.014 from 1964, also in lovely condition with "Closed 6es" dial and original bracelet.
–Urban Jürgensen has his roots in the 18th century in Denmark. But the company's modern history began in 1979 with the new owner and watchmaker Peter Baumberger. Together with Derek Pratt, they began developing new wristwatches and pocket watches under the name Urban Jürgensen & Sønner. Their first wristwatch Reference 1 was launched in 1982 and remained in production until 1986. A total of 186 pieces of this watch were produced. Watches from Urban Jürgensen have sold for millions on the second-hand market and are rarely found at auction, so we are particularly pleased to be able to present no less than three Urban Jürgensen wristwatches at Important Timepieces.
The Rolex Collection - a private collection. Lot no. 43-57
–The upcoming auction features an exceptional selection of vintage Rolex sports watches from a private collector. We can present 15 Rolex watches from the Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master and Sea-Dweller, manufactured from the mid-60s to the late 90s. Including two stunning Rolex "Zenith" Daytona, one in steel and one in gold. Other highlights include a GMT-Master from the 1960s with a much sought-after "Fuchsia" insert, a Rolex Sea-Dweller "Triple six" from the early 1980s and a Rolex GMT-Master II "Fat Lady" from the late 1980s.
