A vase or beaker, smooth, widening upwards, with an engraved band at the bottom featuring circles and transverse stripes, on a slightly recessed round foot. Stamped signature S Carlman. Diameter 9, height 13.5 cm. Weight 218 grams.

The jeweller firm CF Carlman was founded in Stockholm in 1855 by the silversmith Carl Fredrik Carlman. From 1875, the firm was the sole manufacturer of insignia for the Swedish royal orders. Court jeweller C.F. Carlman AB had premises at Regeringsgatan 15. The silversmith Sven Carlman was the grandson of Carl Fredrik.
