Alvar Aalto, attributed to, an early 1930's table for Aug. Louhen Rautasänkytehdas ja Valimo Oy, Turku.
Orange-painted plywood top, underneath drawer with compartment. Green curved metal legs. Length 95 cm. Width 75 cm. Height 74 cm.
There are no documents or photographs of a similar table with a drawer in Alvar Aalto's archives. This could indicate that there is only one copy of the table. Among Alvar Aalto's furniture drawings is a table model with the same leg construction, but the dimensions do not match the table for sale. However, because of the same idea of stackable legs, it can be assumed that this table was also designed by Alvar Aalto.
Partly significant wear. Veneer damages. Colour loss. Scratches. Marks. Rust. Later painting.
August Louhi's family.
