Gunilla Allards intresse för form och design växte fram via de klassiska biofilmer hon jobbade med, som rekvisitör och scenograf. (T ex Ingmar Bergmans ”Fanny och Alexander” och ”Glasblåsarens barn”). Efter studier vid Konstfack och i Köpenhamn tog karriären fart och blev en språngbräda in i möbeldesign, vilket har resulterat i flera internationella succéer.
