The present poster was created for Keith Haring’s exhibition at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery in New York which took place from December 3, 1988 to January 7, 1989. Included in the composition is a printed photo-collage of the artist as a baby, surrounded by a green bubble which is being popped by a drawn figure. Within the same year of the creation of this poster Haring was diagnosed with AIDS. The imagery acts as a metaphor for the artist’s life, which would be cut short roughly a year later.
