Coffin from Loimaa with decorations of wrought iron fittings. Loimaa in Western Finland was the largest centre for the production of flat lid coffins. Loimaa coffins were characterised by prominent decorations in the form of intricate wrought iron fittings. Until the end of the 18th century, the focus of coffin decoration was on decorative wrought iron fittings.
