Bertel, Bertel-Nordströms konstnärskap är främst förknippat med ett pastost måleri med blå toner och med en motivkrets som ofta hämtats från Stockholms vatten och västkustens Hovs Hallar. Han var en modern expressionist och förespråkare för konstnärsgruppen Optimisterna. Gustav Adolf Engelbert Bertel-Nordström föddes 1884 i Helsingfors och dog 1967 i Stockholm. Han finns representerad på Moderna Museet i Stockholm, Ateneum i Helsingfors, Göteborgs konstmuseum, m.fl.
