Preben Fabricius (1931-1984) gick i lära till snickare hos Niels Vodder 1952. Jørgen Kastholm (f 1931) utbildade sig ursprungligen till smed. Han har sedan 1976 innehaft professuren i möbeldesign vid Bergische Universität-Gesamthochschule i Wuppertal. Fabricius & Kastholm samarbetade åren 1962-71.
