The English Cottage

In recent years, the style represented by the magazine House & Garden has regained popularity due to a renewed cultural focus on the home as a sanctuary, the revival of traditional and maximalist design styles, and a shift towards sustainability. As people seek more curated and "soulful" interiors, this cosy and welcoming design philosophy provides an alternative to fast-paced trends. The whimsical, comfortable and maximalistic design of the homes of influencers, interior designers and artists like Luke Edward Hall, Beata Heuman, Nicola Harding and Ben Pentreath have had a great influence on the strong comeback for classic and comforting aesthetics, rich colours, and antique elements, moving away from minimalist, all-white interiors.
